Sonia and Jasdeep

A real honour to paint this beautiful Anand Karaj ceremony at Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara in Gravesend.

During our consultation, the couple asked for a few thoughtful artistic touches: a smaller Khanda 🪯 in the stained-glass window (so it can be seen in its entirety through the palki dome), the bright blue patterned carpet softened and simplified, their own sage florals painted in place of the chrysanthemums present on the day, and the rumalla rendered in red rather than pink to complement Sonia’s beautiful dress —the two broken perfectly by Jasdeep’s sage-green palla.

While these changes could be achieved through painstaking Photoshop work, nothing compares to a handcrafted work of art — something personal, intentional, and truly worth cherishing forever.
