I was thrilled receive this studio commission, which was to include childhood film legend ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’. Mr and Mrs Chitty surely HAD to have the charismatic car in attendance on their big day!
The Chittys had wed earlier in the year and the Mother of the Bride was gifting her a bespoke painting from their wedding photographs for Christmas.
I was to paint the wedding scene held at the bride’s family home and grounds. I was sent a variety of photographed views, features and portraits, and discussed with the bride how to bring the significant elements together into a coherent composition.

One of the many amazing things about painting is that you can paint subjects that are too far apart to be photographed together as though they are juxtaposed that way in reality. Bring all of your favourite parts of your day into a painting!
