Elise and Tom

I painted this piece live at London Shenley Cricket Club. Tom, (a Pink Floyd fan, so enjoys my company name) hired me as a surprise for his beautiful bride Elise.

I was able to include Daphne the dog, who couldn’t make the date.

The clubhouse is exquisite and I felt the composition would benefit from painting its entirety. So I set up my easel on the patio to view the clubhouse from an angle, so as to include as much of the building as possible. The double-vanishing-point perspective involved a lot of maths for the building, walls AND paving slabs, so I took the piece back to the studio to obsess over! This also gave me the opportunity to build up texture in every brick in the wall (another Pink Floyd reference for anyone who minds!)
